Wang Jingwei and the Left Kuomintang and the new Guangxi clique generals had advanced north on the western flank and set up their government in Wuhan. During the spring of 1927 during the Northern Expedition of the Chinese Nationalist Northern Expedition, the ideological Left and Right wings of Kuomintang were also physically arranged in parallel with their ideological positions.
